Sooo sleepy

Man, for this last week I've hardly been able to keep my eyes open. It's crazy. Of course, I'm drinking a root beer right now so that's not helping.

I'm not going to say something silly like... oo, what if I was pregnant, because every time some kinda weird symptom happens I get all excited & take a test, then get all disappointed. Then, I feel like a big dweeb getting all excited.

Still Alive

I just don't have the internet at home. We got most of our stuff moved in. I don't think I've been this tired for a long time...

I'll post pics once I get the internet and the will to take the pics lol

It's a happy tired though, a VERY happy tired.

80+ Inspiring Design Quotations

Thought you guys might like this huge list of design related quotes. I stumbled upon them this morning on Aiga Houston's twitter account and thought I'd share.

Visit them at:

My fav:
"People ignore design that ignores people." - Frank Chimero
I plastered that one on my wall o stuff in my office. :) Good to remember I think...

EDIT: Well, this one was meant for the graphic design community here on lj, but I'll leave it. I have a couple of designer friends. :)

Latest Obsession

I've been reading Pride and Prejudice sequels like crazy. In the last week I've devoured three books. I'm thirsty for more.

I'm not sure I can get enough of the different iterations of Elizabeth and Darcy.

You can close your eyes

One of my favorite songs of all time. It's from James Taylor's Mud Slide Slim album. I've loved this album as long as I remember. My dad played it all the time when I was little...

Well the sun is surely sinking down
But the moon is slowly rising
So this old world must still be spinning round
And I still love you

So close your eyes
You can close your eyes, its all right
I dont know no love songs
And I cant sing the blues anymore
But I can sing this song
And you can sing this song
When I'm gone

It wont be long before another day
We gonna have a good time
And no ones gonna take that time away
You can stay as long as you like

So I loved the Twilight book series. I resisted it for so long. I had no interest in a teenage vampire love story. I begrudgingly downloaded them on the kindle, & I finished reading them last weekend and have since reread the last book. I couldn't stop. The story has so much emotion and I found myself really caught up in it. I've got a little bit of the same feeling of loss I did at the end of the Harry Potter series. I wish there was another book.

The movie on the other hand was W R E T C H E D. I have to say that I was laughing all the way through. It's so sad because I've come to love the characters from the book, but the actors were all wrong. The emotion was all wrong. The movie even went as far as to do things exactly opposite from the book in certain places.

Please, before you make any judgments on the series from the movie, consider reading it first. Also, the next movie should hopefully be better because it's got a new director. *crossing my fingers*

Really Anxious

I don't know what the deal is this week. I'm really restless & anxious. I can't put my finger on it. I just feel... weird.

Anniversary Cruise

So, next year for our 5th Anniversary (2010) we're thinking about this cruise: http://www.carnival.com/Itinerary.aspx?embkCode=FLL&itinCode=WCL&durDays=8&shipCode=MI&subRegionCode=CW&rateCode=PPB%20%20&sailDate=12/21/2010&sailingID=53696 .

I've gone on a Carnival Christmas Cruise before and had a blast. I am seeeeriously aching for a vacation. Cool thing is, we can pay on the vacation from the time we put down the deposit until then, so it won't seem like such a huge expense.

Jon's never seen blue tropical water. I can't wait to be there when he does. :)

Amazon Kindle Software is awesome.

So I downloaded the Kindle software application for my iphone and I am in LOVE. So far I've finished two books, Dean Koontz's Odd Hours & Neil Gaiman's - The Graveyard Book. Next up is Neil Gaiman's Coraline. I saw the movie but was a little bit underwhelmed with the storytelling. The art was fantastic though. So I want to know the real story from Mr. Gaiman, not some Hollywood storyteller. They always skip important parts. Mr. Gaiman is a fabulous writer so I know I'll love it.

I love the software for my phone because I've always got my book with me and I don't have to lug anything else along. It's perfect. Plus the books cost on average 6 bux... love it. So far everything I've searched for has been in Kindle form. Before the Kindle software I was reading Mansfield park from an application I downloaded with all of Jane Austen's work. It's kind of slow reading, but I'm enjoying it.

Currently I'm working on my English homework and I've got a batch of Guiness Icecream in the icecream maker going for the party tonight at Renee & Jon's place. :)(It's an Irish potluck lol. We're bringing Guiness Icecream, Guiness Stout, and Killians Irish Red beer)

I'm trying to avoid the urge to go to our house to see if the sheet rock is up yet...

I'm proud of myself, I woke up at 10 am all on my own... lol
